Dive into QSP to raise money for your troop!

Hello QSP Managers and Troop Leaders!

Debbie, our QSP manager, ready to "dive in" to QSP!
I am thrilled to be the Amity Service Unit QSP Trainer!

We had a teriffic turnout for the QSP Training and just to remind you that the sale begins on October 1st and runs only 30 days, till November 1st.

The Managers and Leaders in attendance last week are ready to DIVE into this years Fundraiser and make a splash into their Troop bank account with valuable Troop Funds!

For those REGISTERED Troops that were unable to send their QSP manager andor a represenative to the training last week, your QSP Packet and GIRL Packets are located at: 890 Greenway Road, Woodbridge.

Each Packet can be identified by your Troop number and has the total number of registered Girls listed. There is enough parent letters, money envelopes and girl packets in the rubbermaid box located on a bench in front of my home by the garage.

You are to distribute the packets to each girl at your next Troop Meeting.

You will find an organized agenda on the inside cover of your blue QSP manual.

Remember to take ONLY the number of Girl Packets that are listed on your QSP Packet out of the box along with your QSP Envelope. The Girl packets have been pre-counted. Anyone who registers additional girls will be allowed to pick up additional packets from me once Mary Cassidy has given me the OK!

For those Troops that have not yet turned in their Registrations and check to Mary Cassidy you have until October 1st to do so. NO Girl Packets will be distributed to any Troops that have not submitted their registrations.

I will make myself available to anyone who needs some time to go over the QSP material. My cell is the best way to reach me. My email is debbie.siena at yahoo.com.

Dive in and have fun!

QSP Kickoff & FAQ

The QSP Program is finally here!

Today the girls in your Service Unit kicked off the QSP Program, and we know that they will be working toward reaching their troop and personal goals over the next few weeks. We all want to thank you for setting up and conducting trainings in your Service Units. We know there were several new pieces to the program this year and that you have already fielded many question. Many of you have also reached out to us with similar questions or were looking for additional resources. Please see below for some updates that should help you as we move forward in the program:

1.       Magazine/Nut Online Program Link. The link to register girls for the online program is now live at www.gsofct.org. We encourage you to also share the direct link when speaking with volunteers or parents/guardians. The link can also be accessed at: http://girlscouts.qspgao.com/connecticut and is on the bottom of the Spread the Word Business Cards. This week we will be sending the link out directly to all volunteers listed in nutE.

2.       Spread the Word Business Cards. This new tool is included in every girl’s sales packet. Girls can distribute the cards to customers after they have registered in the Magazine/Nut Online Program. Girls may include their name on the card (must match the name they used when registering) or their magazine store ID #. The ID# will be automatically assigned to the girl and will be seen on her page. An email will also be sent to the email address she registered with.  A copy of the email is attached here. A pdf of the business cards is also attached.

3.       The Top 25 Magazines List. A list of the 25 most popular magazines is attached to this email. Please feel free to distribute to your girls as a tool to offer magazines to their customers.

4.       Partnership with Save the Children. As you heard at training, QSP is partnering with Save the Children to donate chicks to impoverished families in developing countries. When a customer purchases three or more magazine subscriptions from an address booklet coupon QSP will donate one chick. This video (http://girlscouts.qspgao.com/chickens/) offers a great explanation about the importance of the program and how these donations will positively impact families and their communities.

5.       Additional Materials. I have additional girl packets, troop resources, business cards, and coloring program sheets still available. Please contact me if your troop is in need of materials.

6. Troop QSP Managers - If you are receiving this email and have not contacted me with troop QSP manager details, please do so immediately.

Thank you for your commitment to the QSP Program, and all the support you offer in making this a meaningful and successful experience for the girls in your community.

What's QSP???

QSP = Quick Simple Profitable

QSP is the fall fundraiser for Girl Scouts.
It's a great opportunity for the girls to raise money for their troop and Council (and thereby reduce the amount of dues to collect).  QSP has candy & nut products and magazine sales.  Girls learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

Our QSP Manager is Janice Wivagg and she did a brief training at our 9/23 Service Unit Meeting.  Below is an overview:
  • A Girl must be registered to receive her QSP packet.
  • QSP sales begin October 1 and ends November 1
  • QSP sales must be entered into nut-E (accessed via www.gsofct.org) and paperwork submitted by Nov. 8.  Don't wait until the last minute because the system will get slow.
  • Payments to Council should be done online through the Webster Bank online payment link on gsofct.org   Don't wait until November 8 because it takes a few days to get the payment confirmation, which needs to be submitted with paperwork to Janice by November 8.
  • Product pickup date will be December 9 (in time for holiday & teacher gifts).
Several ways to earn money and badges for the troop:
  • Fill out an address booklet with 8 distinct addresses.  Troop will receive $2.00 for each completed address booklet.
  • Sell magazines subscriptions - orders can be taken by catalog or you can supply a link to your friends/relatives. Digital magazine subscriptions are also available. Troops earn 15% of total sales.
  • Sell nut & candy products - orders can be taken by catalog or you can supply a link to your friends/relatives.  All nut/candy products are delivered to the troop - there are no shipping options.  Troops earn 15% of total sales.
  • Girls and families can send out online links through the Magazine/Net Online portal.  Girls must sign internet safety pledge.  Girls earn a badge for sending out at least 12 emails through this online system.
  • Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors can elect an additional 2% proceeds in place of recognitions.  They will still receive all patches.
Using Nut-E - there is a refresher webiner on 10/30 at 7 pm.

**Troop QSP Managers should set up their troops on Nut-E by October 1 (or before you distribute QSP packets to your troop).

Important note:  your troop has to participate in QSP (in any way) in order to be able to host an Election Day booth sale in November.

A note from Janice:
There are many troops for which I still have not received QSP manager info.  If you are one of these troops, please complete the attached form and email back to me, or just provide me with the information on the form. I wouldn't want your product manager to be unable to access the Nut-e system so the sooner I get the information, the better.
Also, there are many of you for which I do not have registration information, which means that our registrar has not received your troop registrations. Please remember that the QSP troop fundraiser begins Oct. 1 and ends Nov. 1. It is a short sale and you don't want to miss out on this start-up fundraising opportunity for your troop.
Thank you for your cooperation.Any questions, please contact Janice.  If you don't have her email, email GSCTAmitySU@gmail.com and your email will be forwarded to Janice!
